Meet Miss Corcoran!

My name is Miss Corcoran and I am a Grade 4 Teacher at St. John Bosco Catholic Elementary School. I teach Grade 4A!​
​
I am very excited to be your child's Grade 4 teacher this year! Teaching is my greatest passion and I am absolutely thrilled to continue teaching at St. John Bosco again this year! I absolutely love being a part of the school community here and I am looking forward to a great year of learning, inquiry, collaboration, and fun, memorable experiences with my Grade 4 students!

My Mission Statement:

  • I believe that children bring valuable knowledge, experiences and gifts from God that contribute to creating rich and meaningful learning experiences. 

 

  • I believe that the best learning takes place when children are given the opportunity to incorporate their personal experiences and interests into their learning experiences so that they can make deeper and more meaningful connections to their learning.​

 

  • I believe that having positive relationships with your students is the most important role that we have as teachers. With a strong bond and mutual trust, our students will feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking risks. As a result, our students will be able to thrive and reach success!

  • As a Catholic Educator, I believe my most important roles are to model Catholic values for my students, to share and celebrate our faith with them as well as to help my students share their God-given gifts with the world around them! 

A little bit about me:

​

  • My family and friends are very important to me and I love spending quality time with them. I am also very close with my grandmother, who happened to be a Grade 1 Teacher for 35 years!
     
  • I earned my Bachelor of Elementary Education Degree with Distinction from the University of Alberta.  
     
  • I am a huge music fan of many different types of music! I love going to concerts! 
     
  • I danced for many years and I also love theatre! One of my favourite things to do is go see a Musical or a Show!
     
  • In the winter, I love going skiing and skating! Christmas is my absolute favourite holiday!
     
  • In the summer, I love enjoying the outdoors and spending time by the water!
     
  • I love to travel and explore the world! My most recent trip was to Kelowna!

Band: The Beatles and specifically Paul McCartney (I have been lucky enough to see him 4 times in concert!) as well as Taylor Swift
Broadway Shows: Beautiful, Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Mamma Mia, and many more!!
Drinks: Diet Coke and Starbucks (Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Caramel Macchiatos!)
Colours: Pink and Turquoise
Season: Summer! I love hot weather, the beach, the lake, and travelling during the summer!
